Comparing Madonna to Kate Bush is like comparing Gummi Bears to Caviar.

oh i think it's cute how much he fancies her. her answers are very classy but fun.

I especially love the way she tells him they are in Kent. She says, "Kent," and that one word says "You poor man, you will never know this wondrous place." :)

i love that little look when the interviewer says 'we never really read any gossip about you'. It's like she's thinking 'seriously...?'

@TheArsong There was the Faith Brown parody of Wuthering Heights, maybe that's why...

Adam Curry talking to Kate Bush about Cloudbusting in 1985. If only he'd known 26 years later he'd be talking about chemtrails!

@oddn i remember that kate bush was very explosive and everybody was in love with her music "wuthering heights" and her way of dancing on stage .... nobody thought bad about her of her music ... all girls suddenly danced like her and wanted to be kate and all boys fell in love ... it was great that dave gilmour did something for her carreer she was taken VERY seriously and cant remember someone patronised her ... how did you get that idea???
-
@laleldon ok thanks grinn she is smart i guess ...

@TheArsong raising her child and writing more music somewhere hidden lol
I wasn't alive when Kate was at her height in the 80's and late 70's, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if she was not taken very seriously and patronised quite often? if that was the case, then would you say that that was largely because she's a woman? also was she recognised as the tremendous talent that people now think of her as?

@oddn It depends. Early in her career, in the UK, some people interpreted the theatrical elements of her work as evidence that she was nuts. But eventually even those people came around.
There are some painful interviews, but in general, you are cringing for the interviewer, not Kate. She has always had the courage of her convictions, willing to go as far as her art takes her.
As much as I wish she had toured again and been more productive, her scarcity helped her be taken more seriously.

Was that the same Adam curry from MTV? I think this is a different guy. The MTV guy was a douche-bag.

Kate is a big Roxy Music fan. It's a shame they've never worked together.
