Membership site now open: http://retirecheap.tv/members Most Westerners have shelved the idea of getting medical work done unless they are wheeled into an Emergency room. Unless someone has insurance, that's not many now, they just forgo the procedure and suffer the consequences. But if you live in a place like Thailand or want to live there you can get some major medical procedures done without giving up an arm and a leg in the process. And if you are wondering whether a life in Southeast Asia is a good retirement plan, coming over for a surgery or butt lift will save so much money that the trip becomes a free bonus. Check out these prices.

  • Hi JC will appreciate it if u could email the info to me. Is living in an apartment more secure than in a house in terms of crime? & what's the crime rate there like in Chiang Mai & Bangkok? Maybe u could shed some light on this topic. All the times that we've visited Bangkok we've felt safe going around the shopping centers & main streets.

  • @happymama26 Couldn't find a way to send this direct so here goes.

House or apt? Apartment if the building is secure. Houses have to many ways to enter although most have security bars on all windows.

Crime is much higher in a big city like Bangkok. There are areas probably not safe to walk in either late at night. But you would never feel unsafe in Chiang Mai walking around.

There are other cities in Thailand I would feel unsafe in for sure.

  • Hey JC can u pls ask Bruce if he's willing to share what dental procedures he had done & the total cost so that we may compare it with Bangkok. Tried to join up for membership today but can't do it thru the iPhone :(

The only subject I'm not really thrilled about is the topic on :How to have a fulfilling & trusting relationship with a Thai.

Well maybe my husband might have a different point of view!!!:) LOL

  • @happymama26 Haaa! Funny! Sorry about the iPhone. Working on that! He has gone back to the US. Maybe he will post a video. Or I can send the info to you.

  • in pattaya had a simple clean and polish only 500 baht (£11) compared to about £40 back home and it was a great job to!!

  • Thx for the reply JC. Apartment living would be most convenient for us. Seems to me every big corporation is out to gouge the average consumer here in Australia from the price of fuel, groceries & it looks like we're even paying more for the same items that u get overseas! When will this corporate greed end?! Don't they understand that u can't make record profits each & every year.

  • @RichVoyages Not yet but working on it.

  • @retirecheapjc Loved it! You pick up a van yet? We all look forward to your videos from Cambodia,Lao and Viet Nam. :-) When you go to Lao you should hook up with Nigel Sutton. He's very knowledgeable about Lao.Nice guy.
