@PassionateGeordie All true, but I do think that their is an ideological ignorance behind the education system. I think that the people that run these board don't realize that they are training one type of mind. Students can't be unique and learn because they are forced to look at words all day. Not I'm not even going to talk about the teachers.

This is why I LOVE being Canadian. College isn't a scam up here. Not only is it 10-fold cheaper, you also stand a much better chance of getting a well-paying job after you graduate, than if you have only your high school diploma.

I heard it again today, someone telling me that a college degree in a good field is necessary to get a job. Good grades and a popular degree is the path to success! Wrong. Want to go to college and study what you like, while using the experience to learn analytical thinking? You won't get a job that way, say the lemmings. Many people are willing to sacrifice their financial futures for a college education and the promise of a good job. A university was not meant to be a path to employment!

What Inflation.Us fails to understand is the U.S. government subsidy to college institution decreases discount rate which makes it economically safe for students to go to college. The fact is investing in Human Capital increase Net present value over the course of the student life because of increased health care values, and surprise is caused by college graduates degree.
