@cutlerylover I was reading an article on the history of the Higonokami, and from what I gathered, the knife that you bought, while identical in pretty much every aspect, can not legally be called a higonokami. There's apparently only one guy, whose name is Nagao, that holds the patent on the knife. He's nearly 80, but still making knives. The knives with the samurai are called Higo knives, since the current maker doesn't have the patent. Search the british blades forum for higonokami nagao.
