A video of the application of a broadway-inspired Demeter style makeup, sped up and set to familiar music.

EDIT: The video has been muted, as it was reported for sporting content owned by WMG (Peanuts). While I'm disappointed that the audio can't remain, I have no reason to dispute the claim, as it did contain a short clip from "Linus and Lucy." I meant no harm by its inclusion. I hope you all can enjoy the video anyway, though I suspect the poor captions will make much less sense now.

  • Hey Roxanne! I just got my Ben Nye in (just in time for Mechacon and CATS in Tennessee!) And I noticed, you put on the baby powder and some water after different 'coats'. Should I do this too for my Bomba and Deme? Add powder after the first base and etc? Lovely makeup too! Hopefully my attempts in makeup can become as good!

  • @Scarlettequeen13579 This is one of those "it's different for everyone" things, I think. I used to set between both layers of oil-based paints, but if I were doing that today, I'd just set once, at the very end. Or, do the base, set, and then do all of the details with water-based paint. I think the best thing would be to practice painting and powdering yourself, and see what works best for you!

  • so, this is by far the best Broadway Demeter Make up I have ever seen, could halloween creme make up be used. :)

  • @JasonCollago309 I don't see why not, but it will take some practice to get them to cooporate. Halloween makeup is hit and miss as far as quality - usually miss.

  • This is great! After remembering about my all time videoed anything, Cats this week I became obsessed with it XD (again for the 15ish time lolzz) I want to be Demeter for Halloween this year so this helps Immensely :) how much does Ben Nye Creme color cost usually? It looks fun to use

  • @Nyrahd, Ben Nye Creme color is quite fun to use, it's got a really smooth, creamy consistancy. I get mine from Alconeco . com, but I know others who use stagesupply . com with success. You're looking at about $4.50 per .25oz pot (lasts quite a while!) at stagesupply, $5 at alcone, and no idea right now how the shipping differs.

If you're interested in costume how-tos, I totally recommend theccdb.com (the cats costuming discussion board). It's a pretty active forum setting with helpful folks.

  • this is great :) how long did it take you to do?

  • I think theyre way to hard on killing sound tracks for make up vids, okey that you dont own the score but its should be seen as a part off a performance or something.

Lovely work, Roxeanne, it always looks so pro on theese vids (as compared to my skils anyway^^) Johan/Profetikus.

  • amazing...and look simple lol
