Flames on the West Atlas rig in the Timor Sea continued to rage out of control. The oil rig, operated by top Thai energy firm PTTEP's Australasia unit, burst into flames on Sunday. It had been leaking for 10 weeks, but it was when the hole was being plugged with heavy mud that the blaze began. Both the West Atlas rig and the Montara well-head platform caught fire.
