Little Keller Dowdy lost his hearing after developing bacterial meningitis early in 2009. His parents made the decision to have bi-lateral cochlear implants placed in his ears at MUSC. Hear the parents' emotional story and see Keller's progress. This video is brought to you by the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
@InFromTheVoid hearing loss is very common with meningitis. Keller is coming along well. He is in therapy 0ver 30 hours a week but speech is finally emerging..... he will be 3 in June!

I fell your pain...my 11 tear old almost died from this a month a go, and she is deaf. But I am just happy to have her alive. Thankfully my kid was already advanced in reading and writing, so she speaks well. :)
