You can!! Just try to see more movies on youtube of the nokia N97... And you can see you are able to write text messages on the screen... You have like 4 options to do it! Handwriting, QWERTY keyboard, T9 (the numbers) and a little QWERTY keyboard...

All the movies on YouTube are like small commercials, so it's kind of hard to tell what's not good about the phone... The right moment to tell is when it's available and sees what the consumers think about it...
