  • First computer review I've heard that tells you to add the "Basil"

  • For someone considering this system, the video shows a lot more than you get from still pictures. Nicely Done.

  • @v8nman it just tastes better with Basil.

  • so everything comes as shown? build the damn thing your self? like a kit. sounds good to me

    what OS does it use?

  • It probably will work, however, you may not be able to put on your native resolution of your tv.

  • I was looking at getting one of these to use as a HTPC, mainly to stream media from my pc with XBMC.

Since the graphics card is onboard and not very powerful, i read that the highest resolution you could run in was 1280×1024, would this work with a 52 inch screen?

I don't really care about hidef, i know it can't do that, but as long as it will play dvd rips without stuttering i'd be happy.

i'd love if someone could comment back regarding the resolution limitations.

  • For same money as eeebox, you get twice the memory, 5-6 times the disk capacity, twice the CPU, and it runs on 30 watts. I got mine as a home server and it is on 24*7. It runs Linux (Fedora) with Amahi and streams media to my PS3. Media can also be accessed from the web using OpenVPN.

The video gives very thorough demonstration of building a complete system. The product gives a good high quality impression - obviously designed for people who appreciate a "hands-on" experience.

  • no wireless, no DVI, need to add RAM and HD by yourself? why not go eeebox? for one extra core but double power consumption? not a good nettop i guess.

  • at 1:50, you call it a netBOOK:p

    haha, i just noticed

  • Cool cheap little computer box!!! Thx
