  • It is rare that the chip kills the board but we have seen it kill a few times since we install quite a few of them. Chip still works and does what it claims.

  • interesting. and when you took out the chip did it start to work with originals?

  • Taking out the chip did nothing. Drive board was dead. confirmed it was the chip that killed the board by taking the same chip and sticking on another board and watched it die after a few days too.

  • My wiikey (the first version) freezes up randomly while playing burnt games. I bought a retail version of the new wii Tales of Symphonia game, but it wants to install an update that might brick my wii. How do I disable the chip altogether? Where can I find a working version of the 1.9b update that will suitably corrupt the chip's programming? If I manually remove the chip from the wii, will all traces of it's programming and presence be removed with it?

  • you'll be fine, take the update. freezing means you should use better discs ie. dvd-r not dvd+r

  • Wiikey 2 comes in either white or blue. It is rare that it kills the board. Only seen this happen with D2pro9 (same dudes who made the wiikey 2) months back.

  • does this place install internal harddrives for the 360?

  • umm may be it could be reading failures from the wiikey?or just that its broken

  • actually i use wiikey and found dvd+r works way better than dvd-r

  • so is getting a wiikey2 a bad idea?

  • hmm.

    i just need to know:

    was it the wiikeys fault?

or did you accidentley do something wrong?

im getting a wiikey but i want to know will it be ok.
