  • "...Pfizer has about 145,000,000 years of patient experience" -

hahahahahahahahahahaha - what a fuckwit!!!! - still, I'll definitely award their "science" editor a prize for the most creative use of numbers to protect a pharmaceutical companies commercial interests!! :)

  • I don't know much about anything but I can tell you of my experience with lipitor. I took it for a few months and lost about 10lbs. I don't want to lose weight. I stopped taken it and the 10lbs. came back. My doctor said it wasn't because of the lipitor so i started taken it again and BAM! I lost the weight again. I'm convinced that lipitor causes unwanted weight loss. Doctors disagree but the scale has a good argument. I don't like lipitor.

  • It's called hysteria

  • Statins destroy muscle (heart) & eats up the protective covering of your brain. The side effects of statins are the effect.

  • If I had to take a guess, I think this problem affects around 5% of patients on statins in various degrees from very mild to complete loss of short-term memory. I would recommend that anyone on statins that thinks they are becoming 'mentally fuzzy' or if someone you love appears to 'be losing it' then you should take action before more damage is done. The YouTube site called the ‘Frank Cooper Health Show’ covers this subject and other cholesterol issues.

  • I am a Naturopath and author of the book "Cholesterol and The French Paradox" and very familiar with this problem. The reason there is some confusion on this issue, is that the drug companies do admit that statins cause 'short term memory loss' but the patient reading that assumes its merely a short-term memory problem. Wrong assumption! What happens is that your short term memory banks are permanently damaged, so you cannot remember what someone told you minutes earlier.

  • Please note the dry weight of the human brain is 8% pure cholesterol, so if you take statin medications to lower your cholesterol, than your brain may be affected. I am a Naturopath and author of the book "Cholesterol and The French Paradox". During my research I spoke to several women whose husbands took statins and they could no longer keep their jobs. They lost their ability to remember things they discussed ten minutes earlier! So they lost their jobs and were unemployable.

  • Statins destroy your coenzyme Q10, which is imperative for normal memory and brain function. I recommend a holistic Dr., or naturopathic doctor, for anyone who has problems with their heart.

  • tim, you lying pill pushing puta.

  • What he meant to say is, 145,000,000 people are taking statins. Due to these large numbers, Pfizer has a lot of experience. He just got his words jumbled, it happens.

  • take niacin

  • avoid stattins. PERIOD. The risks outweigh the benefits. i have read far too much on the subject and thats my opinion for ALL patients.
