  • @Argentynegal It's also to emphasize the extreme irony that the villain in the ballet performed that night for the Nixons embodies capitalism, imperialism, and aggression... in other words, everything that critics could claim Kissinger's foreign policy was championing.

  • I cant believe so good opera has been created by these US people. too nice to be true!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The three interpreters had a really hard part and their voices together sometimes rubbed me the wrong way, but they were pretty good. What I did not understand fully was why the Henry Kissinger character was part of this ballet.

  • They should broadcast this on PBS

  • I love how the thrilling repetition of "BLOOD, BLOOD, BLOOD, BLOOD, BLOOD!" gives you a hint of where Madame Mao is going to take the ballet soon (even though the Nixons have no idea as of yet).
