Justin Collett of The Action Report is joined by Mark Griffin CEO of CueSports International to discuss various current events in the pool world. Recorded in the TAR Studio on November 16, 2011.
I have expensive cues. On my way to Las Vegas for a tournament I had to check my cues. They showed up 2 days later. I was livid. Got there early, paid to ship, and ouila', no cues at a tournament. Hostile dirty words go here.
I can only speak for Dallas, Tx. The lack of quality pool halls with decent equipment is disappointing. We have a strong pool community here, but halls have closed, some are in disrepair, most are focused on beer sales, and few have management that has an appreciation for cuesports.
Part of this is because early pool halls gave away pool for free, to garner beer sales, reducing pool to a sideline.
The AZBilliards column about League Pool is dead on. See AZB Boys article under COLUMNS.
Hooper is the shit, if you guys don't know about it then you need to find out. What happened to a man's man movie, guys drinking and driving, popping pills and bar fights. :-)
