@gamoonbat haha :) yeah he used to play guitar with Prof Longhair.. that story about being shot in the hand, he always refers to as an "altercation" LOL :)
I met Mac several times in the early 90's after he recorded "Going back to New Orleans", and traveled with the band once when they recorded "Television" as I was dating his then drummer Freddy Staehle.

@gamoonbat yeah, i think (this may not be correct) that he was defending his friend who was a keyboard player because they had a dispute with a night club owner, and when defending his friend he got his finger shot off. The doctors tried to reconstruct his finger and did well. If you look in videos of him playing piano, on his left hand, on his ring finger, you can see like a bulge shape. Thats where it was. A great story for a great musician
