@pumpkinhold No fucking shit man. I've followed Richard Thompson et.al. definitely should not be playing for cracker assholes like this. The guy is mellow and cool as shit, Humbleness in a talent of his caliber is rare I feel. an unbelievable genius, all these years and he's only gotten better and better. a thinking person's guitar fucking monster. so the kick in the teeth I'm there i'd hold drunken fool's head to that curb.

Great song. Thompson at his best when dealing with challenging subjects. The words my God. So much heart and compassion and wisdom. Man, thankful to be alive

Damn, just realized that I was living in Seattle at the time and had intended to go to the concert, but for some reason I cannot recall, did not do so. Now I gotta kick myself in the ass really hard!

I had assumed this was of Sufi origin; thanks for the reference.

Why are the stupid audience talking shit all the way through this, maybe they are the paper shuffling fools thinking about driving back to there semis and pensions, HEY, shut up and listen to the artist at work, Bloody idiots...
Ironic how at 2:38 some loud mouth drunk in the audience messed up your tape. Some people just need a foot planted between their teeth I guess. Killer tune, and so far it looks like the only live version out there of GLaD, so thanks forthe post. I still have this show on VHS somewhere...
