This video shows you how to properly light and adjust a Bunsen burner, how to cut glass tubing, fire polish it and bend it to a 90 degree angle.

  • Can I use propane? Is there a commercial supplier of methane?

  • @DrakeDorosh You can get a propane torch from Home Depot! Be careful whenever working with it. Fair warning! :)

  • Good stuff - Great voice for this kind of video. Thanks!!

  • @MarkRosengarten Thanks for getting back to me. After watching your demonstration I hunted around for a flame spreader for my propane torch. I have already been using propane to fool around with various bits of glass. I was trying to make a coil for a see-through pop-pop boat. I actually have nice safety glasses and a small oxyacetylene torch- though I'm kind of scared of it. I just need a wider flame. The annealing flame is tricky with a LP torch. Used a foil collar-not great.

  • @MaBuSt Did he say that? Glass is simply SiO2... :/, that's not super long lol.. at all

  • "...long chain molecules that make up glass."?

  • Very informative, thank you! You should do more of these.
