In honor of The Hollies being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 15, 2010, I'm demonstrating how to perform the intro to "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" on the guitar in 3 Easy Pieces. The Intro on this 1972 hit, played by Allan Clarke, is one of the all time classic guitar heads.

  • cool lesson

  • @songcovers Thanx!

  • one second let me write this down!

  • @matrox999 Its funny you should mention "writing this down. Before TAB was available everywhere, guitar magazines used to advertise audio cassettes that tell you where to put your fingers. Since it was only audio there was no visual reference. The cassette came with blank staff paper so you could write down the notes as you listened. These were extremely popular. It was a very effective way to learn solos to tunes. Things are much easier now. -Peace
