Xbox 360 wheel brake Mod

this is a video showing how to replace the spring that is behind the brake it will make the brake feel alot more harder to push and feel like a real brake

i used a valve spring from a old engine as a replacement but you could use any spring that is harder than the one thats in it

tools i used were: torx key (to take the screws out), a hack saw and a hack saw blade, a small file, a glue gun, and a small grinder (to cut the spring down) but you could use the hack saw to do this its just alot quicker with a grinder
Items needed are a hard spring and some glue

Text in the video;

Start by taking all the screws out the back off the pedals the middle two are under the sticker like shown

It should just come off easy when all the screws are out, this is one that i have modded allready but its very straight forward and is easy to do

It will look something like this but with a smaller spring and the back of the pedal wont be cut (shown where may need to trim/cut the plastic down)

Make shore there is room for the spring and it will lay flat on the back off the pedal

The spring will need to be cut to the same hight as the little spring or the casing will not go bak together and then glued with a glue gun or you
could use super glue if you can get it to stayput
and placed over the circle where the old spring was,

Place it back together and check the spring is not moving or out off place then put all the screws bak in and there you go you have a brake
that is ALOT more harder and feels a lot more realistic, it makes driving with ABS off alot easyer

really? you used a valve spring? wouldn't that be a little too stiff? i plan on doing this mod too but need to find a good tension spring.

i only play with abs off ;-)

@hmong337 yh i tryed other springs aswell and they where still to soft still, its a little hard but i like my brakes like that :) plus a valve spring gets stiffer the harder you push it unlike the standard spring

Is there a way to mod the gas pedal to make it harder?

@EvilRyosuke yes you can just follow the video but do it on the gas pedal instead

lol way to much efort just jam foam in behind the brake free and easy mod.

@menameisjim hey I'm having a weird problem with my pedals where they automatically brake in any game. I've heard it could be there wire running to the pedals but have you ever had this problem?

thanks for the tips i just put a smaller spring inside the stock spring and it works great but ima get a bigger spring but i just got the fanatec turbo s full limeted edition wheel set up but the microsoft wheel is funn to mess around on haha
