Weirdly, the song is a nearly exact copy of After The Fire's "Der Kommissar" from 1982, just with different lyrics.

@phaota As I've told you before, AFTER THE FIRE are not the original composers of "Der Kommissar", two members of the band FALCO wrote it, and FALCO originally recorded it.

Niether Laura Branigan or After The Fire recorded this song originally.

This performance was recorded for radio, so there isn't any video footage for this performance. But, if you look on my other channel ('gwashingmachine'), you'll find a video of her singing this song!

"Der Kommissar" is a song first recorded by Falco in Austria in 1981, covered a year later by After the Fire and reworked in 1983 by Laura Branigan. Originally written by Robert Ponger and Falco, the Falco version reached the top of the charts in many countries.
