Ok lets talk some fact, i am Tibetan and i know Gelukpa can't leave hair long like him, and can't take consort, unless you are not Gelukpa, he is small geshe, to get real geshe you have to study 30 years, and there is many big Tibetan teacher very simple,may be people need somebody different, ok may be i will show porn, to say it is new style of learning buddhism, and enlightenment. So american, why not wear jeans while you teach, may be not now.

Please read the book Geshe Michael Roach wrote with Christy McNally titled,The King of Dharma about Jeh Tsongkapa Lobsang Drakpa,and before that what Geshe Michael Roach experienced in the beginnings of his trainings until he reached Geshe. Cumulatively,he continues his work for much past 30yrs!

i respect that you're Tibetan, but please understand that what Geshe Michael is trying to do is to help adapt the Dharma to the West. The U.S. is never going to have so many monks as Tibet had, and most of the people who follow the Dharma here are women. He is one of the few teachers now trying to promote women as teachers...

Also, just for the record, he wears his hear long to remind himself of his 3-year retreat; although not a Gelukpa tradition this was a tradition in Tibet for many years

@comradecanuck Geshe Michael is trying to adapt Tibetan Buddhism to benefit mainly non-ordained westerners; he one of the only teachers in this tradition promoting women teachers. If you don't like his teachings, don't attend--but be careful, for your sake, how you judge others.

maybe you should be careful how you judge other people: nga'am nga dang 'dra bas gang zag gi tsod bzung gi gang zag gis gang zag gi tsod mi bzung ste, nyams par gyur ta re; is a famous quote in Tibetan from Buddha: Only I or another like me should judge another, or you will surely fall (into the lower realms).

Lama THUBTEN YESHE is Tibetan.He established the Mandala Magazine of Tibetan Buddhism,and in one of Lama Thubten Yeshe's books,he says on page 37 that a Female consort is permitted.Gehse Michael Roach speaks Tibetan fluently,so if you're Really Tibetan,and it is simpler for you to speak in Tibetan,set a discussion with him personally,and diplomatically.

If you disagree with the Geshe,You should be speaking to him personally & confidentially and telling him personally what you think and believe as a Tibetan,& Iam sure he knows quite a bit,he studied with a Tibetan monk in New Jersey,and abroad too.

Furthurmore,in the book,Teachings from Tibet-Guidance from Great Lamas edited by Nicholas Ribush of Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archives, pg. 37; it states; If monks,for example,take the secret initiation,they have to leave the monastic order,because those who have taken the secret initiation are required to practice with a female consort"
