ANN ARBOR, Mi. -- Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's linebacker James Ross attended the Best of the Midwest Football Camp Sunday at Michigan.
Ross did not work out at the camp, but plenty of schools are after the 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect. Michigan State was the first to offer over a year ago, while he has since received offers from Ohio State, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Pittsburgh and Purdue.
Ross recently sat down with the new Michigan coaching staff, as they discussed how Ross would be utilized in the Wolverines' defense. Head coach Brady Hoke told Ross they would likely use him at weakside linebacker.
Ross said he is planning to visit MSU and sit down with coach Mark Dantonio and staff to see how they would use him in the defense. Ross still likes the fact that the Spartans were the first to offer him and have been recruiting him harder than any in-state school.
Ross received the OSU offer over the weekend and said he anticipates more top BCS offers in the near future.
Spartan Tailgate caught up with Ross to get the latest on his recruitment.
Is it true that he is changing his commit to Penn State because he likes the way they treat their kids. Or is he staying with Michicken?
