A simple song showing off some patches I recently made: the filter sweep (wheel controlled), a rich synth brass, electric piano and bass.

  • Do you use multitrack recorder or what?

  • I just use an old PC to record the audio straight from the Alesis MIDIVERB III which is connected to the SQ-80.

  • Did you compose that? It's good - especially the beginning... I really like it. :-) Go Happy be Lucky Music. ;-)

  • Yup, I composed all of these tracks (except the Axel F demo, of course) right on the synth. Glad you enjoy them ;)

  • @perspeeks Yeah, but the tempo isn't. The brass is very Oberheim-ish though.

  • @900GTi Good point, actually. I think the main brass just reminds me a ton of Jump :)

  • @perspeeks Ehhh, more like Steve Winwood, or Mike & The Mechanics

  • I had one bought it in 88' sold it in 99' for 200 bucks.

  • I love how you've left the pre-count on at the beginning. I love my SQ80, so rich, so ridiculously easy to program, so versatile, such a bargain!

  • A typical American pop theme of 80's

  • Darn, you make me want to get one of these again!

Really tastefull souds, right up my 80's sleeve, and that's a good thing!

  • I like this a lot - it reminds me of someone (group) but can't place it.

However , i would have liked a few modulations to other keys (from 1,09 onwards before returning to the home key again) and prehaps the main brassy sounds could have been accompanied by another patch an octave higher - a string sound -

    just some little thoughts

  • Has a Mike & the Mech. feel too it. I liked it.
