@sasha42196 bc college students to this point have probably studied trigonometric functions for about 4 years without seeing physical demonstrations that make sinusoidal behavior concrete.

... This is a great experiment to show students that the displacement of an oscillating object as a function of time yields a sine function. I did think about making it for my students but didn't (yet) get to it... Thanks.
