  • Hey Steven, Do you know who sings the 1st verse. It doesn't sound like Myrna. What do you think about "Heaven For Me" on this album? I listen to that over and over. Thanks for the post.

  • Um Idk Who Sings The First Verse. But I will Post that Song For You look For it Soon :)

  • Faybian, I think Dottie might be a little offended if she knew you thought she was Myrna's mother, especially since they're nearly the same age--lol. Yes, it is Dottie Jones singing with Myrna, like they used to do all the time. Also, Refreshing Spring (no "s") is part of the Church of God in Christ, but the rest of the comment is correct. Professor Theodore King was the co-Minister of Music with Myrna. To AishaQD: this song is a hymn. It should be in any hymnal.

  • @99score Dottie Jones

  • @steven2312 Dottie Jones, later of the Richard Smallwood Singers.

  • I like this song, does anyone have the word to this?

  • This is an excellent song.

  • Hello Everyone, The 1st verse was sung by Myrna's mother. I was on the front row of Refreshing Springs Baptist Church when this album was recorded. My parents also sang that night, and yes this was Rev. Theodore King's church.

  • I know it's not Bea Ginyard, because she had a high first soprano voice that really stands out. At first I thought it was Monica Richardson, but the more I listened, it sounded like Dottie. But I could be wrong.

  • Interesting. I thought it was one of the more "mature" voices like B. Guinyard from the Theodore King era. Not that I was there. I heard tell they sung like that back in the day (smile)

  • I think that's Dottie Jones singing the first verse.
