? ... it failed because the device failed, not because it was "thwarted." Are you so naive to see that having the explosive *on* the plane is in and of itself failing to stop an attack. You can chalk this up as a playing out of fortuitous events that should be acknowledged as a failure in our screening process. That attitude WAS around in WW2. We didn't torture Nazis. We gave the SS officers trials.
Torture is actually the NEW thing, not the forgotten pastime. The forgotten pastime is being better than our enemies when it comes to human rights.
Don't be such a fucking idiot. We didn't win WW2 by torturing people and being belligerent. We did it by gathering intel the RIGHT way & staying on a more honorable path than our enemies.
