Jenny 's pepperoni pizza is so crispy, you can hear the crunch! See how to make healthy pizza at home. A detailed recipe is below...
(for a printable recipe, go to www.JennyJones.com)

Dough:
1-1/2 cups bread flour
3/4 teaspoon Fleischmann's Rapid Rise yeast
3/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup warm water (about 110 degrees)
1 tablespoon olive oil

1. Place the flour, yeast, sugar & salt into a mixing bowl.

2. Add warm water and oil.

3. Combine and knead until dough is smooth and elastic (1 - 2 minutes with the mixer, 5 minutes by hand).

4. Place dough in a greased bowl, turning it to grease all sides.

5. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place 1 hour until double.

Pizza:

2/3 cup pizza sauce
4 oz. part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
about 20 slices reduced fat turkey pepperoni

1. Set oven with bottom rack and preheat to 425 degrees for 45 minutes.

2. Using 2 teaspoons olive oil, grease the entire surface of a 14 inch pizza pan (with holes).

3. Place pepperoni slices between double layers of paper towels, between 2 plates, and microwave for 30 seconds. Other toppings like mushrooms or peppers should be microwaved the same way (but for one minute) to remove moisture. Blot afterwards if necessary.

4. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 10-inch circle.

5. Stretch the dough by hand, using a closed fist, or letting the weight of the dough stretch it by hanging down.

6. Press the dough into the pan. Add sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.

Bake 15 - 20 minutes until edges are golden.

  • put ingredients into a microwave? I am sorry but microwave destroys anything good in food, do some research on it please and you will throw your microwave away.

  • @Victorius30 - I have researched microwave ovens and have no problem using it with glass or paper; however, heating anything in the microwave in plastic containers or with plastic wrap or is not advisable.

  • How big is your pizza pan? I use a toaster oven because our oven broke but I have a 12 inch pizza pan, so would I cut the dough in half and use 1/2 or is that pan the same size as 12 inches? ^^ thanks

  • @Syaaj17 - My pan is 14 inches so you could use most of the dough or try making 2/3 of the recipe. Half might not be enough, or the crust would be very thin - but if you like a very thin crust, half might work too. Good luck!

  • what if you don't want your pizza dough to be crunchy, but instead you want it softer?

  • @m1kaela - You could make extra dough and make the crust thicker or try using a regular pan with no holes. Remember that a dark pan cooks hotter so you could also use a light-colored pan. It might take you a few tries but homemade pizza is worth the effort!

  • Wow ill try it!!!

  • fabulous talk show host and baker and cook! you need your own SHOW ON food network <3

  • looks goooooood

  • then add the sugar oh and here comes the special ingredient "liquid nitrogen"

  • Anyone who wants a less crispy crust just move the oven rack to the middle and maybe use shortening instead of olive oil to grease the pan

  • Not enough cheese

  • i hate crispy crust, i like my crust fluffy and thick

  • @Necrodius The reason it looms overcooked is because she cooked the pepperoni already. But way under-cheesed.

  • Way overcooked and way under cheesed and over sauced. Regular crust is sposed to be softer bagel-ish not crispy like a cracker like that.

  • she loves to spank her dough hard xD !
