CBC News 2009 - lazy? unimaginative? or both

reporting the news as if it were 1985 instead of 2009.
It's already daylight in far away Vancouver (9am) but viewers of noon hour news on CBC across the country are served the typical, meaningless view of firemen with hoses at night.
CBC thinks that's all viewers need and are able to cope with.
