It really does take some skill to not just kill the Thorn Demons, but chop them into nice neat steak cuts while doing so.

many of the staffs in the game will bump up a characters mana limit so that way you can even get bane to be a decent spellcaster as well.
Ninja levels are worth leveling just for the gains in health.
Pushing the action key will throw any item in your hand- if you are fast enough you can have a pile of daggers at your feet and you can just click on them and immediately hit space- so if you get good at this you can fire off a lot of stuff before something gets to you.

Fighting those thorn demons early on is a great way to level up ahead of your time, and making money by selling the extra steaks.

how i got really leveled up in the game, was going into that bat cave, killing bats, picking them up, an putting them in the little section with the door. also, I made a profit by occasionally going to the cave on the opposite side and getting the green gem. once I trained enough, I went outside and started slaying thorn demons (still getting my G.G.) by the time i entered the misty obilesks I had 2 blue steeles and every one was about a << in their skill.

sure, that's why i put "cheat" in parenthesis^^ I once did it, though, because those damn thieves pissed me off so much...

tip for the beginning: just bye 4 war clubs.. very cheap and powerful in the beginning^^
realy nice game!
The strategy guide said it's possible (but difficult) to beat this game with nobody but Torham and Graen. I might start up a quest and try it with Torham alone.

@bobin26 Go for it. I've beaten it with Torham alone, it's fun.

I don't know if you will say it later on but it's possible to train Bane to be a wizard and get more mana. You just have to rest between symbols and prep the spell one symbol at a time :-D The first level up is very tough though...
for some reason I had exactly the same team when I played this long long time ago :-)

@Kulik0 Continue watching, and you'll see that I, in fact, do. ;)

there also is a "Cheat" in this game which you can use to gain Fighter and Ninja levels: Since the game gives you Fighter-XP for every successful hit you do, you can chop down those thorny trees and the tables in the shops for a mediocre amount of XP and just hit the unchoppable Oak trees for low amount of XP. to gain Ninja levels is even easier: just throw daggers at nothing for hours.

Yeah, I knew about that. Alas, I didn't think it was worth mentioning, because you'd have to be NUTS to spend hours chopping/throwing things at a damn tree. :\
