The charming Bidu Sayão and the great Leonard Warren in the third part of the Violetta-Germont duet, from Verdi's La Traviata (Metropolitan Opera, April 24th 1943).
Это просто бесподобно. И удивительно чистый звук для такой старой записи. Спасибо огромное. И не такое уж у нее "маленькое" сопрано, как кто-то из слушателей выразился.
Although I am not a Warren fan, in all fairness I feel that his singing here is far superior to most of his commercial recordings. Wish he could have sung this way on more of his studio recordings.
Sayao and Warren in the 1940s singing Traviata has never been surpassed after 60 years--This is a live performance not a studio performance with editing--listen to the great musicality of Sayao and the Warren-Sayao in particular gets into your heart and mind.

Bidu Sayao was sublime!

Warren was a magnificent singer as was Sayao--both very unique. He died tragically on stage, she lived to a ripe old age in Casa Bidu in Maine.
