after a certain amount of time they dig them all up and bury them in a mass grave any way, I understand your point and i dislike when history is pushed aside in the name of unavoidable but destructive progress but I'm sure whoever is buried in those graves couldn't care less any more. if they did I'm sure they would let the workers know.keep trying your best but don't put yourself in an early grave over it (no pun intended)

We tried to let the BRBA know of the concerns we had before they set up their site area.
They dug up bones on 2 separate occasions and these were identified as being animal by sight and no formal testing. For a site being so close to a cemetery proper testing should have been done.
All we asked for in 2006 when the EPA agreed the works for the Eleanor Schonell Bridge breached the boundary was for this boundary to be correctly defined and sorted out. To date this still has not been done.

As you can see by the video this testing could not have been done correctly because of the amount of land fill. Ground penetrating radar testing was also done but this test does not pick up ground disturbances under the land fill. Inaccurate testing of the area and the construction of major infrastructure without a registered boundary is not simple whinging by the FOSBC. Common sense tells us there is a major problem here and one that should have been addressed before the construction started.

It is recorded that the BCC used the demolished graves as land fill and some were used to build the fence along TJ Memorial Park Drive. If this is the case then aren't they digging on cemetery ground - this should have also been cleared up before construction began. An archaeologist was supposed to do a scrape test along the boundary area in 2004 but not all of the area was checked due to trees. Scrape testing is when they dig back to natural soil.

The BCC are even unsure of where the cemetery ends as far as the burials are concerned. The original map they use is dated 1975 and the cemetery was originally surveyed in 1863. This makes it highly probable that there could be graves in the construction area and this is what we wanted them to check. The headstones and grave sidings dug up in this video were from the BCC 1970's beautification scheme.

Basically the Northern boundary of the cemetery is incorrect and puts 60 plus graves in parkland. Back in 1992 the BCC submitted plans to correct this but the plans were never finalized. We have asked for this to be fixed - continually being told they are soon to be registered. To date these plans are not registered and the BRBA are working to an unregistered boundary. If this correction of the boundary was registered the BRBA construction fence would be in cemetery ground.

smeone looking at your video is going to think that you are a menace because you haven't explained your position.
All it looks like is that you have a beef, going to make statements like "shame on the ..." but don't explain yourself

"Shame on BCC and Qld Government for ignoring the border issue raised in 2006 by us. Where are the bones that were dug up? "
But making a political statement, and i say this being a statement that you have made against the State Government, shaming them, you haven't given the reader and viewer any more information.
We need more information, just don't go out making stupid statements saying "Shame on ..."

From which reports are the FOSBC being mentioned as being a menace to the workers and BCC?
The FOSBC are still trying to work out why the State and BCC are not being made to adhere to sections of the Lands Act and Heritage Act like the rest of us has to. Rules and regulations are set in place for a reason.
