no its will not work if is not custom firmware ONLY CUSTOM FIRMWARE WILL WORK NOT OFFICIAL FIRMWARE REMEMBER =)

yes its works all of custom firmware but the newer wants needs a popsloader to work so just search mine version its different so it didn't need popsloader to work.

Do i need to convert the download file (that you put for download) to the EBOOT.PBP?

you don't need to convert the files again.Just put the both files called EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN in your folder after u create a folder name Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
