We lost Johnny in July after more than 15 years. It took me 6 years to get to know him. It took my wife Karen 10 years. He started out as my cat, as a month old kitten he would sleep on the edge of the tub when I would take a bath, he'd wake me up by swatting my big toe with his little paw. The day he passed away he slept next to me while I took our last bath together.

  • :( crying. Johnny looks like a furrier version of my cat.

  • Johnny used to hiss just like that. He's vet knew the hiss very well. She would have to wear shoulder height leather gloves to handle him. She was still sad when she put him to sleep.

  • Mate a lot of people don't realize, or understand that losing a pet is the same as losing a "human" member of the bloody family, pets are part of the famil ... I know how much heartache it bloody well caused our Mum when first she lost our Sketie of more than 19 years, then last year it was her 22 year old cat ... I dare some bloke to tell my Mum that was not like losing a family member .... sorry for your loss Mate, & to your Mrs as well.

  • I can't tell you how much word like these from a man, and hero of mine, mean to my wife and I. Johnny's death has taught me what an anchor our pets are to our humanity. Please give you Mum my best and an extra hug the next time you get to see her.

    Dare to win

    Rick

  • i agree. Pets are four-footed family members. At least that is what I think so.

As a Wiccan, we beleive animals choose us for a reason known only to them. Sometimes we are graced by their presence and when they do,then we are truly loved. I am so sorry for your loss. i,too, lost a cat. Cosmo Kitty. hit by a careless driver.

  • It's been 9 months and loosing John has gotten no easier. The day after he died I dragged my wife to the shelter and we adopted a father and daughter, Beau and Zoey. I think John is with them because they have copied some of his unique habits. We could not have made it this long without them. Thank you for your words. It is heart breaking to see an pet along the side of the road.

  • Just had to watch this again, Rick. It's a great video.

  • What a great tribute to "Jonathan"...I just know he's in Kitty Heaven looking over my little "Mischief". Thanks so much for sharing this vid. It's wonderful...I shall save it in my favorites!

    Very good job!

  • I remember talking to you about your cat early last year. Sorry to hear you lost him. Our pets come into our lives and become part of our families. They always remain loyal and love us through good and bad times. Many humans could learn a thing or two.

    Your friend,

    Lonnie
