This video illustrates how friendly the deer are in our fine summer location of Pinawa, Manitoba, Canada.

Located on a private site in the Pioneer Bay Campground, we've come to know these deer over the years and this year they allowed us to treat them like common pets. While feeding the deer is completely illegal and heavy fines are issues if caught, these deer just want to hang out, get a good scratching (especially between the antlers) and share a few kisses.

We hope you enjoy this video as much as we did making it......this was taken by cell phone video on July 17, 2010.

  • @MaddyRockRoxs none of the deer in Pinawa are considered livestock and they definitely do not pull any heavy loads in town. "Lick your hands and snuggle" is a by product of people interact inappropriately with them. Your vulgarity just proves your lack of many things. I live here and I get to pick up the bodies as they starve because silly people continue to free them inappropriately. Come in the winter and spring and help pick up the remains of your play time. Stay in the city PLEASE.

  • @twandalives They are considered livestock, they pull heavy loads, they lick your hands, snuggle next to you, and you calling them wild animals? Piss off.

  • How stupid are people! These are not domesticated animals. See the horns? When rut season starts those are weapons. Deer are not dogs they are WILD animals and you are putting yourself and them in danger. Stay in the city if you can not figure out how to live with nature. Due to so many people "feeding" and taking on the deer as pets has created all kinds of problems in Pinawa and other communities. Rick should at least inform you about not touching or feeding the wildlife.

  • its funny because i know these poeple.

  • the ticks and fleas on them may cary limes disease, be careful
