CEMEX noise pollution Rufford Street Kings Cross London

Another clip of this noisy concrete plant this time from my windowsill overlooking Rufford Street. It is a breezy day 20 July 2006 and very hot (30deg plus) so i have my windows open. The wind affects the sound quality initially but when the lorry tips at about 1min 29 seconds into the clip the din made by tonnes of gravel hitting a steel hopper at speed is very clear. (shot with Sony DSCP200 still camera - i notice the internal clock is at GMT not BST)

WOW, how boring. But they do take the mick with there noise, but you should show this to the goverment or summin instead of putting it on YouTube lol

thanks clown - the clip here is for showing to councillors and the people at CEMEX so they take my complaint seriously - using youtube i can distribute video as part of an environmental campaign far more easily than any other way. the campaign is built on my local website

Reversing Beepers on the plant lorries are a pain, I managed to get our local Cemex site to have "White Noise" reversing alarms, much better as the sound only carries close to where the vehicle is operated but can be clearly heard to workers near there.

Only trouble is, Cemex use lots of contract plant some of which don't have white noise bleepers, I had to speak to the site foreman to have him enforce the use of the WN bleepers on all vehicles. (Cemex Kingsmead)

I remember when this plant first opened. Us kids werent used to cars let alone cement mix lorries charging down the street.
