  • Ahhhh, and this is still the mantra of the teabaggers & those who follow them here in the new millenium......if we were only living like the people did 100 years ago! Women didn't have the right to vote, anyone who was not a white, rich middle-aged man knew exactly where they were to stand! The great "good ole days" of plutocracy!!!! And, unfortunately because of the low information voter...we are nearly there again!!!

  • @DevoShire -- Mr McCauley misspoke. The fear did involve the USSR; however it was that they would DROP the bomb rather than that they would GET the bomb. The greater fear, though, was that Goldwater would talk us into a nuclear shooting match with Russia.

  • It was Red China getting the bomb, The USSR had got it in 1949. Too bad the over 58,000 Kia in 'nam can't be your backup vocalists, LBJ was such a pacifist, right?

  • This song was actually written by Natalie Meyers and June Reisner in Pittsburgh, PA.
