Io Canto Il Corpo Elettrico - Celest Prize 2009

"io canto il corpo elettrico"is the direct relationship that exists between the actions and alteration of the environment that surrounds them.
The installation was realized through the creation of a body electric that produces sounds by interpreting gestures and hand movements, without physical barrier dividing the human being and the sound. In this way the physical and emotional stimulus generated by amplified music and the human body becomes a tool that frees and editing sounds and then the environment.
Who interacts with the work can modify individual sounds, creating an environment sound that can be melodic or dissonant, reflecting the perceptions and emotional feelings of the spectator.
As in reality, this environment is left in "legacy" to the visitor after that will improve or worsen with other actions.
We chose to use the Gesture Recognition as a technique to control to amplify the emotional impact and give a sense of suspension and lightweight interaction. In fact it reduces the distance between man and machine sound because everything is more human and natural.
