January 17, 2008; Anaheim, CA -- More than 80,000 attendees are converging this week for the Winter NAMM show; the largest music product trade show in the world.

Of course, Alesis is there and people are lining up to see the stunning new iMultiMix 16 USB iPod recording Mixer, and some incredible new e-percussion products that include the DM5 Pro Kit with Surge Cymbals, and USB Pro Drum Kit. Alesis is also showcasing the "MultiPort; a desktop iPod recorder with transport controls.

Fans of the legendary Alesis SR-16 drum machine are getting the first glimpse at the newest member of the family; the SR-18 drum machine builds on the best and delivers a cutting-edge, modern drum machine that can be had on a musician's budget.

  • "six trillion dollars??"

    "uhh... 699$"

    "OHHH'

  • Roland can kiss my ass, plus they can't hold up to the Hart Dynamic kits. Also to the person that said Alesis kits were shit, dude they cost $700. What do you expect to get with $700? They're pretty nice for what they cost. If Rolands are so fucking great why is it so many people sell their kits. At least Alesis doesn't over charge for their drums like Rolands stupid ass.

  • Random question... Ive got a sr-16 and want to run triggers with it, I know about the trigger to midi converter but I was wondering if I'm only using one trigger could I somehow plug it straight into the start/stop jack? or am i talkin out my ass

  • lol at pat petrillo at the 1:15

  • I agree but for this price range this is definitely the best one. Roland is over a thousand.

  • well if you got the money to go roland great for you, for the rest of us who are doing not so well luckily we got some cheaper choices.

  • Yeah I agree man, I know roland or hart kits are awesome but what if you dont have the money to buy one? this kit allows you to trigger drum samples that are top notch studio quality sounding. The kit itself might not be the best but for what I have heard it does a good job triggering. Im getting mine tomorrow and I´ll be using them with superior 2.0, ill make a video review when I get the settings working.

  • twhen the guy says six hundre, he goes all squeeky, is so funny

  • That snare sounded like shit

  • i actually have that kit and i love it. it feels good it not the quietest thing in the world, but it does feel like a real drumset. hook it up with garageband and EZDrummer and you got yourself a really good sounding kit.

  • 4G??? Well, I think dtxtreme 3 sp is kind a nice then, although I would definitely prefer this kit. lol

  • Go ret percussion, expensive, but their top of the line kit is around 4g ,thats still about a grand cheaper then rolands flagship kit plus ret uses REAL drum heads REAL wood shells and REAL cymbals.Unlike rolands mesh heads and plastic and rubber cymbals.
