@Nirvanarain Sounds like a description of the Greek Goddess Hekate. She sometimes known as lady of the crossroads which is a hoodoo theme and is said to be accompanied by dogs. There is a lot of lore and trivia associated with her, and she is in fact a patron goddess of trivia, among other things. Though scary I she is not malevolent and is a protector of the very young and the elderly and infrim.
