The Chipmunks sing one of my favorite songs, an old country song called "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" by Gene Pitney. Enjoy!

  • @mrfivegold Eh, good point. Alvin would make a perfect John Wayne.

  • @Juria316 Gene Pitney finished the remix after the film was released.

  • @Juria316 Simon should be Liberty due to his ability to be mocking if given the chance besides Alvin just screams John Wayne cocky but in a good way.

  • @Juria316 Its really food for thought: The 3 main characters: Wayne,Marvin and Stewart Vs Alvin,Theodore and Simon all to be presented in which sort of genre of what was quite possibly the world's greatest Western story. What could one create ? It would be certain to be a blockbuster of an anime. I would blend in child's humor with a serious tale of values.I live in Hollywoodland like to submit ideas no matter how crazy. The world is already nuts anyway.

  • @justcallmeassinine I know that Alvin has a better chance than Theodore, who I could see taking Jimmy Steward's role. I could potentially see Simon pulling it off, but he'd be in a tie with Alvin. I agree with Pitney. I actually got into the song years before I saw the film.

  • @Juria316 Do you think Alvin has the right talents to pull it off as a murdering, sadistic yet colorful sort of villian ? Pitney's voice is sublime. I think Ford liked the song but felt perhaps that it world somehow cheapen his film. Ford was on to the best work of his life.

  • @justcallmeassinine Actually, I read somewhere that he heard the song, didn't like it, and decided not to have it in the film, even though Gene Pitney made it specifically for the film. XD Hmm, not really sure, maybe Alvin.

  • @Juria316 Very true.Legend has it that John Ford did want the song in his movie. It was his call.BTW which Chipmunk would you cast as as Liberty ?

  • @justcallmeassinine Me too. The part that irked me when the most was when I saw the movie, and the song wasn't in it.

  • Waiting for The Chipmunks to do a remake of the immortal movie.
