Rush 2049 - Mission-backward (track 5) - Time Trial Demo

Ghost race, going the other way (backward), through Track 5 - Mission.

Going forward, I like it, but going backward, it's my least favorite track. A very difficult maneuver in the first part of a lap (0:28 and 1:40) and not much else. Too much abort abuse...

Also, this is not my best time. It's just a demonstration of the shortcuts and general lines taken to achieve a fast time. My actual best times are shown at the end.

I find that if you don't veer right off the path after the first ramp, but rather follow it as you do on lap 3, and then intentionally abort as you reach the up-curve, you regenerate past the next straightaway. Does that save time or is there too much speed loss involved in a restart to make that worth it?

I seem to remember my main rival doing that abort before I discovered the route of veering off; can't remember exactly. So trying it out again, it looks as though veering off like I do in laps 1&2 is a bit faster. There is indeed too much speed loss in aborting (always get passed). However aborting is much faster than running through the entire loop like I did here on lap 3. The only reason I ran this 3rd lap like I did was for the sake of capturing a clean run, and I forgot about the abort.
