This song is most probably a ahirawa song sung by womenfolk amongst each other, having some fun at the brahmins expense.

Damn I va never him him live, but its so much hype....you hear his drummer, amazing talent. lol i may a little young to really enjoy his music, but my father is the one who introduced me to his music, unfortunately he passed. But I still listen to Ramdews music, its amazing. Legendary to hear that voice and drumming.

Brother you are correct, we are all the same and we all share the same lineage. A professor of mine (a great, humble man in my opinion) has done a wealth of research as it pertains to the Indian diaspora, he has dedicated much time since the early 90's in tracing the roots of 'our' music in the Indo-Caribbean and Surinamese community, his name is Peter Manuel, do look him up as he illustrates how connected we all really are.

The sarnami way of playing dholak really suits our music. Ramdew Chaitoe is a legend and as inspiration. His dholakia perfectly complements him. Sometimes we in Fiji, play the dholak, a tad too loud but this rendition is perfect.

a bit late I guess, but thanks for clearing it up. Maybe to make it even more clear: The languages the Indians/Hindustani's in The West Indies speak, all look alike, because their ancestors mostly came from places in India where they speak Bhodjpuri and Audhi. So the language they speak is actually a mix of mainly those languages. So sometimes the words are hard to understand because the meaning of it goes way back to India.(Excuse me for my bad English, I tried my best to make myself clear)
