Grand Theft Auto 3 Physics Glitch

It's almost as if the game runs too smooth... If I'm sprinting across a curb or down into a knoll, Clyde goes flying. When he lands, sometimes he survives, sometimes not. If fact, I need not even be running but just cruising and if I run off the curb the wrong way he'll just fall to his death. I don't know if anyone else has encountered this glitch, it's really annoying.

@2010METALFAN F1. Another neat thing to do to save time on firefighter missions is activate the mission and press F1 twice; once to show replay and again to stop replay, which will automatically extinguish the fire you need to rush to put out. I only do that on Staunton and Shoreside because you'll come across some of the cars you need for the garage in Portland during ff missions.

I have too. I found this clip because I was looking to see if anyone else was having the same issue. I have no idea what to do about it. I am running the Steam version. Are you? I'm on Vista - maybe I should run it in compatibility mode? Or Change the core affinity to a single core? I'll try both and get back to you if I don't find anything.
