Like any other genius John MCarthy suffered from Cranium-Up-Rectum Syndrome regarding his participation in the Cult of Science. Dr. Mishlove does his subtle best to try and help McCarthy pull his head from out his bias, but Dr. McCarthy was just too indoctrinated with bs for Dr. Mishlove to help him recover from it.
