basically he believes in gender roles where a woman should take care of the house cooking and cleaning and let her husband do whatever he wants as long as he comes home to her at night and stays financially secure...no wonder his relationships didn't last.

He didn't EXACTLY say that but even if he did, if you know that's what your boyfriend wants in a wife and that's not what your willing to offer DO NOT MARRY HIM! People want a certain lifestyle but don't want to put the energy and effort into doing what it takes to maintain the sort of lifestyle. Women especially. Where most men fail often is wanting their wives to be at home and greet then with a smile but instead go out in the world and do ALL the things that make her frown.

Yes, he believes in gender roles for a successful relationship. If you truly understand what a relationship is, you would understand what he is saying. You do this, I do that; and together we make something beautiful. This is what man and woman; husband and wife; yin and yang; is all about. Recognize this and don't leave foolish comments.

Knowing that you are a woman, I can understand why you may be offended by that. But if you were to look up the origins of marriage, that's what marriage was originally. Marriage never was about partnership and two people having "equal" roles. That is why marriage fails so much today and will one day become instinct to popular culture. My point is, there is no reason to get married, if you don't believe in gender roles. Hes in the wrong for thinking the Christina wanted that, too. Some girls do.
