fixed yet another ps2 slim. this one just needed a new ac plug adapter..... The reason it wasnt working was because it had rust on the inside where the ground touches... Im guessing it was garage stored. That tends to do it... thankfully i had an extra one that i could spare......

  • is it normal for the ps2 slim power supply to wiggle

  • @macegx

it happens from time to time. the jack is only held on by some solder points. over time of use the solder can become loose and cause it to not make the right connection to the board. especially from people popping that power plug in and out excessivley. if yours isnot getting power most likey thats the problem.

  • When I open my ps2, the sensor doesnt go back the whole way like usual, and when I try to play a game it makes an awful noise. Plz help me.

sounds like you need to grease up the rods... if you dont have any grease try using wd40 on a napkin then wipe it on the rod..

  • Hi you seem like the person to talk to about this. I just bought a ps2 slim for $7 but it doesn't do anything. I pressed the button on it to turn from red to green but it turns back red less thatn a second later. Any idea what the problem is? I would really appreciate any help with this, thanks :)

  • @pepsiturtle22

The problem is one of the fuses/resisters.You will need a digital meter. The fuses you need to test are: PS1, PS2, PS17, PS8, PS13, PS6, PS15, PS3, PS7, PS11, PS14, PS4, PS5 and power fuse F001. Set the meter on 20K, these resisters/fuses should read the same as if you touched the two leads of the meter together, the meter should go to 0 or 1. If the meter registers more than two or if you don`t get a reading at all than the fuse is blown. hope this helps
