Firth is playing a man who is into men and women and Benedict is playing the role as a gay man (its not in the book). I hope you see them hook up in the film.

I have to say that I am somewhat nervous about this film as I am a massive fan of the books and the Television series with the great and the good Alec Guiness. Having said that, the cast looks very impressive and if it is done properly, it could be fantastic. Let us wait and watch and hope!

I guess I missed the part in the book about Guillam being blond. Which page is it on?

@romangirl88 Firth is a modest man, so this must be a brilliant film. Looking forward to seeing Benedict in a suspense thriller. He's terrific in everything, but anything that shows how broad his talent is intrigues me.

I've watched the miniseries with Alec Guinness many times, and this trailer reminds me of the miniseries. Although Benedict's blond hair is a bit of a jolt (the rest of the cast appears to fit the characterization of the nondescript agent), I hope that the movie lives up to the trailer. There' s a lot of really good talent in the cast!

@XxLi3rose123xX Colin Firth at the Empire Awards said he thought the film was a masterpiece. He's not one to gush so it must be exceptional.
