Personally I do think he should have been fired. I'm still kind of befuddled as to why this isn't assault. Had a dumb Jets fan (redundant) managed to run over to the Jets sideline and do the same thing, there's no doubt he'd be charged with something. I'm curious though, if Carroll had sustained a season-ending injury in that sequence would you be calling for Alosi's head then? I'm not trying to be an asshole, just curious.

It's funny cause when I saw him go down on that play at the game, I had no idea why. Then I get home, turn on sports center to watch highlights, and boom! Nolan Carroll was intentionally tripped. Only with the Jets.... Anyway, I want him to be fired, but you're probably right that it might be a little harsh, even after the wedge was purposely made to force Carroll by the sideline. That's probably why he wasn't flagged for it. That, and he got hurt so the ref showed some pity maybe.
