FORTUNETLY Irene wasn't as bad as the weather advisory had put it prior to hitting Manhatten, even the Carolinas were with hrriscain status #1 and it downsized even more well before it hit New York..so what's the big deal? I remember all to well what Andrew did to MIAMI yrs earlier & Miami is H-proof & yet still... If New York would of taken a direct hit from Hurricain Andrew, Frieda, Elmer or even Mitch the damage wold of been more than an airport closed...so feel lucky you got a drenching!
