If this doesn't move you I suggest you seek help.I fiirst heard it in '76 and fell in love with her voice. Every time I hear it I choke up. The only voice that comes near is Iris DeMent. Nobody can cover this, nobody!

Emmylou wrote this soon after the drug/alcohol overdose of her singing partner, Gram Parsons in 1973. You're privileged to have heard this - Gram's death hit her hard and she does not sing this song very often. Sorry to hear about your loss, ma'am. This song has to be the saddest ever. It always brings tears to my eyes too, and reminds me of loved ones gone before us.
