Bendis has a boner for Luke Cage because Luke Cage is the man! He deserves the spotlight.. I've read Avengers in all it's incarnations and he's as compelling a character as any of them. He has an air of beleivability and he's easy to identify with. For once it's good to see the "everyman" as a Black man. I've even warmed to him being with Jessica Jones. At first I thought the relationship made him a comic book version of Charles Barkley...a mouthy, pro-Black brother who lusts after white women.

I'm a big fan of Cage's as well and agree that Bendis does a good job with him.

Wish he'd just write Heroes For Hire already!

What's wrong with it being a Luke Cage and Company as opposed to being a Captain America and the Avengers? This is some of the better writing for Luke Cage and he needs it. He has been a B-list hero for too long.

The only problem I had was with Wolverine, he's everywhere and he is one of my least favorite characters.

Luke Cage is one of my top 20-25 favorite comic characters. I was a big fan of Her0es for Hire. Loved Iron Fist too.

But I will agree with you other characters are written very poorly.

Bucky doesn't do much except in a fight. Spider-Man has been written terribly in New Avengers. Bendis only uses Peter for comic relief. But to be completely honest Spider-Man has been sub par since One More Day.

I have an idea. Let Bendis write a Luke Cage book, and give New Avengers to Grant Morrsion or maybe one of Spider-man's writers (who know how to write Spider-Man). I think it could work, and this way everyone wins!

I got one bone to pick with ya' Jose, I like Luke Cage if theres one thing Bendis did right it's making Luke a complete character and not some black steroetype.

He's really the only black superhero representing in the big leagues at Marvel, Black Panther is crap, because of that hack Reggie Hudlin, Falcon will forever play second fiddle to Cap (Steve or Bucky) and and no Bishop turned traitor.

He deserves his own book yep, but it seems black heroes don't sell so I'll take what I canget.

As you guys said #49 close the Luke Cage and Company chapter. Things are looking brighter, though, but not for the NA memebers. A quick glace at each teams line up will tell even the most neophyte Marvel fan that the NA are largely over powered. Hell, Sentry and Ares alone would be too much for the NA to handled much more the entire DA team. The only way there going to make it through that fight is when Doc Strange shows up saves there asses! HA! These books are becoming pitifully predicatble.

They should rename it "Luke Cage and his family problems", I'm sick of it.

I mean how many times have they shown him changing the baby's nappy (diaper)? Its great that he's a new man an all but I want to see him punch f**king holes in skyscrapers and stuff!
